Medicare
Most people have benefits for part A:
- if you paid Medicare taxes for 30-39 quarters
- If you are 4 months before you turn 65 years old
- If you are under 65 and on disability
- If you have ALS also called Lou Gehrig’s disease
- If you have End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD)
Medicare part A is free if you have contributed and paid for these benefits. Usually covers hospitals, skilled nurses, hospice, home health care.
The standard premium amount for 2023 is $164.90 most people pay trough their social security benefits, railroad retirement board or office personnel management.
Part B covers most doctors services and the following:
- Outpatient
- Therapy
- Durable equipment
- Ambulance
- Mental Health
- Impatient
- Outpatient
- Partial Hospitalization
